Located at The Vales, this 904 sqft resale executive condominium was reimagined into a minimalist haven for a couple in their 30s. With a focus on simplicity, clean lines, and essential functionality, the design aimed to reduce visual clutter while enhancing spatial flow. Designer Fynn crafted a refined, calming atmosphere using neutral tones and gentle curves throughout the built-in carpentry, staying true to the minimalist principle of “less is more.”
A key feature of the home is the custom TV feature wall—crafted using plasterboard with soft curved edges and integrated LED lighting. This approach avoided visible joint lines, preserving the smooth, uninterrupted look that the homeowners desired. Rounded cabinet corners were consistently applied throughout the unit, softening the geometry and enhancing the fluidity of the space. Smart lighting with adjustable temperatures was incorporated to allow ambient control, adding depth and flexibility to the overall mood.
A warm monochromatic palette consisting of cream and beige tones was used across built-ins, window dressings, and loose furnishings, which were mostly sourced from Johor Bahru. Durable finishes were selected for both aesthetics and practicality, including laminates from Lamitak, Panaplast, and EDL, paired with sintered stone countertops from Valcun. With a budget of S$37,600 and a swift 4-week renovation timeline, this home exemplifies how minimalist design can deliver both tranquility and understated elegance.
